DPS by ARCO Appoints Steve Hammond Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Hollywood, FL, March 16, 2005 - Data Protection Solutions by Arco (DPS), the pioneer and leading provider of disk-to-disk (D2D) solutions protecting data at the edge of the network, has appointed Steven D. Hammond as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Hammond, who reports to President/CEO Lawrence F. Steffann, will be responsible for driving the company's worldwide sales and marketing programs, product management and marketing functions, establishing and developing global, strategic distribution relations, and directing the company's marketing communications.

Mr. Hammond joins DPS by Arco from vehicle economic total loss recovery solution provider Vemark, LLC, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He successfully transformed the company from a single product position to an end-to-end solutions provider, enabling vehicle remarketers to better the management of total loss cycle. In addition, Mr. Hammond was previously Vice President of Marketing for the leading document accounting solution provider Equitrac Corporation, where he repositioned the company from a leading cost recovery solution provider to the Legal market into a document accounting solutions powerhouse. He extended its market reach to serve the higher and primary education markets, Architectural & Engineering, Library and general office markets as well as to develop channel relationships. Mr. Hammond also brings with him over two decades of strategic marketing experience from notables Pillsbury Company, Expert Software, Boca Research, Micro Design International and nStor Technologies.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hammond was responsible for establishing the Expert brand at notables such as CompUSA, Office Depot and Best Buy among others. He built strong distribution relationships with Tech Data, Ingram and D&H Distributing when working at Boca Research, and he led the Optical Storage industry through the writable CD/DVD platform consolidation, as well as Universal Disk Format adoption while at Micro Design. In addition, he pioneered electronic marketing and delivery of solutions through the applications service model at various companies. He holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
